The Rollins volleyball team takes to the road for the third
straight weekend, traveling to University of West Georgia in
Carrollton, Ga for the 2015 South Region Crossover. The Tars will
square up against Mississippi College on Friday, followed by two
matches on Saturday against Christian Brothers and the University

ROLLINS AT A GLANCE:
The Tars are coming off a 1-3 loss against then No. 18 Palm
Beach Atlantic University. The loss comes just one day after
Rollins picked up a victory over SSC opponent Barry University, and
drops the Tars to a mark of 2-13.
In the match against Palm Beach Atlantic, sophomore Bri
Civiero led the Tars with 15 kills, followed by freshman Kerra
Tirado with 10. Rebecca
Wilson and Rachel
Sawyer earned 24 and 23 digs, respectively, to lead the squad,
while April
Jackson matched a team best 22 assists, followed by MaryEllen
Pole with 16. Tirado had a major day at the net, posting seven
blocks, followed by Civiero with five.
For the season, Civiero leads the Tars with 170 kills, followed
by sophomore Shannon
McDonough with 124 respectively. Pole holds 294 assists for the
Tars, with Jackson trailing closely behind with 273. Wilson leads
the team with 272 digs, while R. Sawyer holds 201 digs for the
season. Sophomore Kianna Dieudonne holds an impressive 56 blocks
thus far.
MISSISSIPPI COLLEGE AT A GLANCE: The
Mississippi College Choctaws are currently 2-17 overall, and 1-10
in Gulf South Conference action. Miss College enters into the
South Region Crossover riding a six match losing streak.
Most recently, the Choctaws suffered a 3-0 setback in against
GSC opponent Valdosta State. Shelby Grace Mays, Jenna Campbell and
Kayana Mitchell each tallied a team-best seven kills on the night.
Bailee Berringer dished out a team-leading 16 assists. On the
defensive end, Madison Kimes recorded nine digs to lead the
squad.
Leading the Choctaws in kills so far this season is Campbell
with 120. Closely behind with 108 kills and 47 blocks is sophomore
Mitchell. Berringer leads Mississippi with 292 assists, trailed
closely by sophomore Sydney Chandler with 225.

CHRISTIAN BROTHERS AT A GLANCE: The Christian
Brothers University Buccaneers rest at 6-12 overall, and 3-8
against GSC opponents. The Buccaneers enter into the Crossover
riding a two match losing streak.
Senior Alexis Gillis leads the Bucs with 279 kills. Junior
Marisa Wong holds 213 digs for the 2015 season. Setter Jessica
Reber holds an impressive 619 assists and 123 digs or the Bucs.
Last time out, Shorter University swept a three-set match from
the Lady Bucs. The first set was back-and-forth throughout, with 12
ties and four lead changes. The Lady Bucs tied the set as late as
20-20, but Shorter secured the 25-23 win. The Lady Hawks jumped to
leads of 9-4 and 15-7 on their way to a 25-18 win in the second
set. After the Lady Bucs closed within 10-9 in the third set, the
Hawks scored the next three points and pulled away to a 25-15 win
to complete the sweep.

UNIVERSITY OF WEST GEORGIA AT A GLANCE: The
University of West Georgia Wolves sit 3-13 overall, and are sitting
on a 12-match skid and 0-11 GSC record entering into the
weekend.
Senior Tiffany Ancrum leads the Wolves with 145 kills for the
season. Following her lead, senior Helen Menchinger has 129 kills.
Sophomore Victoria Rushin is the Wolves frontrunner for assists,
with 244 for the 2015 season, with freshman Kelcie Zimmer close by
with 231. Casey Roethler holds the record for digs with 217
respectively.
Most recently, the Wolves took on the Alabama Huntsville
Chargers at Spragins Hall. UWG stayed close for much of the match,
but fell 3-0 in the final match. Freshman Paige Berriochoa had her
best night in a UWG uniform against the Chargers, delivering on 13
kills in the match. It was just the second time this season that
Berriochoa had double-digit kills and the second time in the past
four matches.
NEXT UP FOR ROLLINS: The Tars will have home
court advantage for the next three matches, facing Florida Tech on
Tuesday, October 20, Saint Leo on Friday, October 23 and Eckerd on
