MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (May 3, 2014) -
Making a trip to the NCAA Tournament for the 20th
time in program history, fifth-seed Rollins took on fourth-seed
West Florida in the South Region I Semifinal on Saturday morning,
eventually falling to the Argonauts, 5-2.
The Tars end their season with a record of 17-7 while the Argos
advance to face host and top-seed Barry in the South Region Final
on Sunday.
Rollins found themselves in a hole after doubles, dropping three
tough matches, heading to singles play down 3-0.
In singles, UWF would make it 4-0 with a win in the No. 4 match
but the Tars battled their way back in it with wins in the No. 3
and No. 2 matches to make it 4-2. First, freshman Shannon
Etten defeated Nina Bubelova handily, 6-2, 6-1, in the No. 3
match before senior Ashley
Rosenberg took care of #47 Laure-Eline Faure, 6-3, 6-4, in the
No. 2 match.
Unfortunately, with Rollins battling in the three unfinished
singles matches, the Argos came back with a win in the No. 5 match
to clinch the win and advance to face Barry on May 4.

Salvador will graduate with a career record of 66-31 and
four-straight trips to the NCAA postseason.
