ROLLINS AT A GLANCE: Last time out, Rollins
started slow and never recovered last Wednesday night, falling to
No. 6 Tampa, 13-8, in SSC play. Freshman Carson
Buell led the Tars with three goals in the loss with A.J.
Gogan adding two scores. Morgan

Vonarb, and Joshua
Jenks each scored one goal. Sophomore Alex
Petsos was 13-23 on faceoffs and collected a team high, seven
ground balls.
In goal, Andrew
Sheerin suffered the loss for the Tars, playing the whole game
and made 15 saves.
Thanks to Petsos, who is 191-305 on faceoffs, the Tars are
currently ranked ninth in the country in faceoff winning percentage
and are 10th in ground balls per game, averaging 34.46
per contest.
Offensively, Vonarb leads the team with 27 goals, which is
already a program record for goals in a season, with classmate Nicholas
Schultz behind him in second with 24. Senior co-captain Jack
Dever is third with 21 goals and is tied for the team lead in
assists with 12.
In goal, Sheerin has played the majority of the minutes, posting
a goals against average of 12.45 and is ranked 24th in
Division II in saves per game, averaging an even 10.00.
The Spring of 2014 marks the fourth season for head coach RJ
Rossi after spending a season as the assistant coach. Before
coming to Rollins, Rossi spent four years at Western Connecticut
State University as a Defensive Coordinator for two seasons before
being promoted to Assistant Coach with defensive
responsibilities.
SAINT LEO AT A GLANCE: Last time out, Sophomore
Kevin Hutchinson dished out five assists as the Saint Leo men's
lacrosse team dropped a 15-8 south region contest to No. 10
Pfeiffer University. The loss was the Lions' third-straight.
Hutchinson led the team in points notching the team's only assists
of the day, followed by Miles Britton who netted a hat trick on the
day. Matt Obermeyer and Dylan Yonts scored two each, while Ryan
Burke added one of his own.
Saint Leo is ranked second in the country in faceoff winnings
percentage (.682) and eighthin scoring defense, allowing just 7.54
goals per game. They are also ranked in the top-25 nationally in
ground balls, assists, turnovers per game, and scoring margin.
Obermeyer leads the team by a wide margin in goals with 28 while
Hutchinson owns the team lead in assists with 14.
In goal, Dave Moore is ranked 12 in the nation and first in the
SSC in save percentage at 0.569 and has posted a goals against
average of 7.53.
Brad Jorgensen was hired as the first-ever head coach of the
Saint Leo University Men's Lacrosse team in January 2005. He is now
in his ninth season in 2014 and entered the season with a 60-52
record at Saint Leo, and a career mark of 105-102.
