WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 16, 2014) -
The ninth-ranked Tars continued their dominant play over the
last month, winning their eighth match in a row, defeating No. 11
NYIT, 6-3.
Rollins is now 10-2 while NYIT falls to 17-3.
The Tars have made a habit of getting ahead early and Sunday was
no different as Rollins took a 2-1 lead after doubles. The teams of
Elissa
DeCampli and Ashley
Rosenberg and Mariana
Salvador and Johanna
Olsson both picked up wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 matches,
respectively.
In singles. Freshman Shannon
Etten beat Gabriela Siembab, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2 in the No. 3 match
for her second singles win in as many days while Rosenberg
continued her dominance in singles, winning her seventh straight
match in the No. 2 spot.
DeCampli clinched the match with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 1
match with Salvador getting back to her winnings ways with a
victory in the No. 5 spot, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-8, over Alex
Borgenhoff.
The Tars will be back in action on Wednesday, March
19th at home versus Indiana I. of Pennsylvania at 3:30
p.m.
