WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 14, 2014) -
Behind a furious second half comeback on Friday afternoon, the
eighth-ranked Tars survived Bentley, 16-14, in overtime. It was the
second time in two meetings that Rollins knocked of the Falcons in
overtime, the last coming on March 11, 2013 when the Tars won,
12-11, in double OT.
Rolins improved to an impressive 5-1 with their fourth victory
in a row while the Falcons fall to 0-3.
In a game the was a tale of two halves, the Tars narrowly edged
Bentley, 31-30, in shots but dominated the second half and
overtime, outshooting the Falcons, 18-9 over the final 36:00
minutes.

Perdomo led Rollins with four goals while junior Alley
Rhinehart continued her offensive onslaught of late, recording
three goals. Senior co-captain Caroline
Lamere finished with 2 goals and three assists.
Carolyn Kynoch and Cailin White both scored four goals in the
loss while Taylor Bastien added five assists.
Elyse De
Lisle was again exceptional in goal, recording nine saves in
over 63 minutes. Freshman Hannah
Ricci spelled De Lisle late in the first half, picking up a
save.
The first half was owned by the Falcons on Friday, as they
exploded for 12 goals and led by as much as 6 to take a 12-7 lead
at half. Kynoch scored all four of her goals in the half while
Perdomo led Rollins with three in the period. Senior Kelly

In the second half, it was Rollins' turn, exploding out of the
gates with scores by Brittany
Eveler and Thayer to cut the deficit to 12-9 with 18:41 left to
play.
A goal by Bentley's Taylor Lunden would make it 13-9 before
Rhinehart, Lamere and Allie
Bohan each found the back of the net in a span over just over
three minutes to cut the Falcons' lead to one, 13-12, with 7:29
left to play.
Shortly after, Ellie Shuman would halt the Tars' run, making it
14-12 at the 6:55 mark. Rollins was unable to create a scoring
chance over the next four-plus minutes, still down two as the game
clock ticked under two and half minutes.
Then, at the 2:23 mark, freshman Taylor
Burns was awarded a free position attempt and converted to
again pull the Tars within one, 14-13.
Just 61 seconds later, with Rollins fully in control of
momentum, Lamere would tie it at 14-14 and force overtime. It was
the games' first tie since the opening minute when it was 0-0.
Rollins' depth and gutty performance from their upperclassman
proved too much for the Falcons in OT, as Perdomo first finished
off her best game of the year with 4:55 left before Rhinehart
sealed it at the 2:03 mark, ending the game in a final of
16-14.
