WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 7, 2013) - Point guard
Kyle McClanahan was named to both the Sunshine State Conference
First Team and All-Newcomer team, it was announced Friday.
The Winter Park native leads Rollins and ranks eighth in the SSC
with 15 points a game. He is dishing out a conference third-best
4.7 assists a night and is eighth in steals with 1.8 a game.
McClanahan is one of the top shooters in the league, ranking
second in both field goal percentage (57 percent) and 3-point
percentage (47 percent). He is also third in the conference,
hitting 83 percent at the free throw line.
McClanahan has led the Tars in scoring 11 times, including five
games with more than 20 points. He poured in a career-high 26 at
Tampa earlier in the year, leading Rollins to a 72-66 win over the
then 22nd-ranked Spartans.
A transfer from the University of Florida, McClanahan will lead
the fifth-seed Tars into the Sunshine State Conference Tournament
quarterfinals against fourth-seed Florida Tech on Friday, March 8
at Noon. Fans can listen live on the Tars Sports Network at
