WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 5, 2013) - The Rollins men's lacrosse team were overtaken by Wheeling Jesuit 17-9 Tuesday afternoon despite hat tricks from Jack Dever and Riley Robinson. Rollins held a 5-3 lead at halftime but were outscored 14-4 in the second half.

The Tars drop to 1-5 (1-2 DSC) on the season as the Cardinals improve to 3-2 (2-1 ECAC).

Hunt Bartram had a handful of highlight-reel plays on the day as he registered a total of 16 saves on 32 chances. Freshman Alex Petsos won 11-of-20 faceoffs in the contest. Six different Tars registered assists as well.

Rollins scored the first goal of the game on a nice shot from Riley Robinson, assisted by Jack Dever. Wheeling Jesuit would sneak a trio of goals into the home net, moving the score to 3-1, before the Tars put together a scoring streak of their own featuring goals from Will Diamond, Chris Ross, Stephen DeFlumeri and Dever. The Tars would take the 5-3 lead into the break.

Wheeling Jesuit came out of the intermission with momentum, scoring the first three goals of the third quarter and reclaiming the lead at 6-5. Dever deposited goals two and three on the day, sandwiched around a Cardinals score to deadlock the score at 7-7 with 25 minutes left to play. Robinson would add his second goal of the game after a Wheeling Jesuit put one in the net to keep the score tied at eight.

It was all Wheeling Jesuit from the 7:35 mark and on in the third quarter on as they would score nine of the next 10 goals, with the exception of Robinson's third goal of the game, bringing the final score to 17-9 Cardinals.

Brian Frank had five goals and an assist for the Cardinals in the victory.

The Tars return to action on Saturday, March 9 when they take on Belmont Abbey. Action is slated to begin at noon at Barker Family Stadium. For updates on the men's team and all the live action, fans can check out the Tars' home on the web at RollinsSports.com.
