WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 3, 2013) - Rollins
picked up its fourth straight victory Sunday, beating Saint Anselm
12-2 on a blustery afternoon in Winter Park.
The Tars wore their pink uniforms during the game to raise
breast cancer awareness. All proceeds from the game will be donated
to charity.
After banging out 21 hits and 16 runs against Felician on
Saturday, the Tars (7-6) rolled up 15 hits for its 12 runs as an
encore on Sunday.
Boston
Langley led Rollins at the plate, going 3-5 with two doubles
and two runs scored. Evan
Rivera went 2-4 with three RBIs and three runs scored. His
two-RBI double was part of a three-run Tars third inning.
Brandon
Curson (2 RBI) and Steve
Betcherman (1 RBI) each hit 2-5 on the day.
Matt
Hendricks earned his first victory on the hill for Rollins,
surrendering five hits and one unearned run in five innings. He
struck out five and didn't allow a walk. Isaiah
Sakany tossed the last two innings in relief, permitting one
run.
Rollins had at least one base runner in all but the seventh
inning.
The Hawks (2-3-1) spread their six hits evenly among six
different players. Mike Hayden and Bobby Carkhuff recorded one RBI
each.
Tom Hudon took the loss, giving up 10 runs on 11 hits in two and
two-thirds innings.
The Tars scored one in the first, but blew the game open with a
six-run, six-hit second. That big inning was followed by a
three-run third to give Rollins a quick 10-0 lead.
The advantage ballooned to 11-0 after the fourth before the
Hawks got on the board with a run in the seventh. The Tars got it
back with one in the eighth and St. A's scored another run the
bottom of the eighth.

at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 4.
