$website.include("options")

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (February 20, 2013) - By virtue of an 11-1 start to the 2013 campaign, Rollins jumped four spots from their position in the preseason poll to ninth in the initial NFCA Division II poll of the regular season, it was announced on Wednesday.

The No. 9 ranking marks the first time since 2011 that the Tars crack the Top-10 of the NFCA poll.

Valdosta State maintains its preseason position at No. 1, receiving 14 of 16 possible first-place votes, followed by Southeastern Oklahoma State (14-3) at No. 2. The Savage Storm made the largest move in this week's poll, receiving one first-place vote and jumping all the way from unranked into the No. 2 position. West Texas A&M (10-1) is behind them at No. 3 while also garnering a single first-place nod.

North Georgia (11-2) climbed eight positions from No. 12 to No. 4, while Cal State Dominiguez Hills (11-3) rose from 11th into the fifth spot to round out this week's top five.

Five teams dropped out of the polls after being ranked in the preseason. Previously No. 2-rated UC San Diego (7-7), No. 4 Angelo State (9-5), No. 6 Minnesota State-Mankato (2-4), No. 19 Barry (5-5) and tied-No. 24 Grand Valley State (0-0) all were excluded from the first regular-season listing of 2013.

Tampa (8-1) is the lone other SSC representative in the first poll of the 2013 season, checking in at No. 8.

The NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches, two representing each of the eight NCAA regions. Current 2013 records are shown, first-place votes are in parentheses.
