WINTER PARK, Fla. (October 5, 2012) - The Rollins volleyball team suffered a straight-sets loss (18-25, 21-25, 15-25) to rival Florida Southern Friday night at Warden Arena. The Tars now drop to 8-8 overall and 2-3 in conference play.

Reigning AVCA National Player of the Week Camille Indest led the Tars with 14 kills, to go along with two digs and two blocks, while hitting at a .310 clip. Senior setter Kiana Parks recorded her third double-double of the season with 22 assists and a season-high 13 digs.

Junior Megan Hodges made her debut after suffering an injury early on in the season. Hodges registered five kills and three digs.

Florida Southern made quick work of the Tars in the opening frame, 25-18, but battled through the second set. The score tied nine times with eight lead changes. Rollins came within two of the Mocs at the 22-20 mark on a kill by Indest, forcing a FSC timeout. Southern then went on a 3-2 run to close the set.

In the third and final set, Florida Southern jumped out ahead on a 4-0 run, but the Tars slowly made up the deficit to tie the score at 6-all. Rollins was then unable to make up ground on the Mocs, falling 25-15.

A pair of Mocs led the way for Florida Southern as sophomore Kate Stromberg registered 15 kills and nine digs. Anne Pietkiewicz added 10 kills with 13 digs.

Rollins will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 6 as they host the Saint Leo Lions. Match time is set for 4 p.m. Fans can catch all the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
