ORLANDO, Fla. (October 12, 2012) - Rollins made
the short trip to the UCF campus for its regular season finale and
a look at the Sunshine State Conference Championship course Friday,
running in the UCF Black and Gold Invitational.
Rollins' women totaled 286 points in the 16 team event,
finishing 11th. North Florida won the event with 49
points with host UCF coming in second (88) and Jacksonville third
(106).
The Rollins men racked up 296 points and finished
11th. UNF won with a near perfect score of 27 while
Miami took second with 45 points and Florida Gulf Coast third with
83.
Lauryn Falcone led the way for the Tars, finishing eighth in a
time of 22:10. Twin sister Justine Falcone stopped the clock at
23:46 and was 26th.
Sarah Ankli finished 83rd with a time of 25:54 while Hannah
Lewis finished 105th in 27:20 and Daniella Rioux was
four seconds back (27:24) in 106th.
Jessica Deese took 134th in 31:37, followed by Emily
Hendrix in 135th in 31:39. Danella Betencourt was
141st in 33:15 and Jennifer Rios was 146th in
a time of 36:03.
Kyle Sawyer paced Rollins on the men's side with a
41st place finish, posting a time of 29:26. Dan Mazur
was 60th in 31:39 and Emmett Horvath was 69th
in 34:20. A. J. Dunn took 75th in 35:46 and Matt Boggs
finished 77th with a time of 36:45.
The Tars will serve as host of the 2012 Florida Blue Sunshine
State Conference Championship at UCF on Saturday, Oct. 20. The
men's 8k race is slated for 7:30 p.m. and will be followed by the
6k women's race at 8:15 a.m.
