WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 15, 2011) - Junior Kevin Mager tied the single-season record with eight triples in Friday night's 4-3 loss to Eckerd. Rollins is now 20-18 overall and 2-11 in the SSC, while Eckerd improves to 14-20 on the year and 2-11 in conference play.

Mager tripled in the bottom of the third with the score tied at 1-1 with two outs. As always, Rollins scored in the opening frame to get the 1-0 advantage over Eckerd, but the Tritons knotted it up in the third on a two-out single.

Right fielder Zach Persky notched a game-high three hits off EC, while Nick Adams and Sean Reilly each got two hits.

In the top of the fourth, Eckerd took the 3-1 lead over the Tars on a two-run single by Stephen Pelc. Rollins rallied late in the bottom of the seventh as Josh Band crossed the plate on a Tony Brunetti single. Band walked, stole second, advanced to third on an Adams flyout to center and scored with two outs on the board.

Starting pitcher Mike Howard (3-3) was charged with the loss in 7 1/3 innings of work. He fanned five, walked one, and gave up two earned runs. Eckerd closer Robbie Nabers received the win with two innings on the mound.

Rollins closes out the weekend series with Eckerd tomorrow afternoon with the doubleheader slated to begin at 1 p.m. Fans can catch all the live action on RollinsSports.com.
