ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (April 14, 2011) -
Rollins made easy work of Eckerd Thursday in the quarterfinals of
the Sunshine State Conference Championships as the ninth-ranked
Tars shutout the 43rd-ranked Tritons 5-0.
Rollins, the No. 3 seed at the event, advances to play
second-seeded Lynn at Noon on Friday April 15. Nova Southeastern is
serving as the host of the event at Sanlando Park in Altamonte
Springs.
Rollins' 14th-ranked doubles tandem of Jeff Morris
and Arturo Baravalle won 8-3 over Ben Maxwell and Hisa Sato at No.
1. Jason Alabaster and Nick Rowlands downed Adam Hopkins and Dylan
Randazzo 8-4 at No. 2 while Sebastian Hafner and David Yawalkar
scored an 8-4 win over Erik Thunberg and Aaron Kleefield in the No.
3 match.
Yawalker won by shutout, 6-0, 6-0 over Kleefield in the No. 4
match while Chris Herbert took Randazzo 6-0, 6-1 at No. 3 to seal
the victory.
