ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. (April 14, 2011) -
Rollins was upset in the top doubles match, but took care of
business the rest of the way as the ninth-ranked Tars defeated
23rd-ranked Florida Tech 5-1 in the Sunshine State
Conference Championship quarterfinals.
The third-seeded Tars advance to meet second-seeded Barry at 9
a.m. on Friday, April 15. Nova Southeastern is hosting the
tournament at Sanlando Park in Altamonte Springs.
Lisa Loft and Stefania Tkach won the No. 2 doubles match over
Abigail Greif and Monica Price 8-4 while Roshni Luthra and Allie
Steele teamed to win at No. 3 over Abbey Keister and Alexis
Weinning 8-4.
Katarina Huba and Kristina Huba upset Rollins top tandem of
Margaret Junker and Kayli Ragsdale 8-6.
In singles play, 17th-ranked Junker downed Greif 6-0,
6-2 at No. 2 and Tkach took Price 6-1, 6-3 at No. 4. In the top
flight, 29th-ranked Luthra took 26th-ranked
Katarina Huba 6-2, 6-4 to seal the match for Rollins.
