WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 1, 2011) - The
ninth-ranked Rollins women's lacrosse team squares off against No.
2 Lock Haven University this afternoon at 3 p.m. Coverage of
today's top-ten showdown will be available through LIVE

The Tars enter into today's matchup with an overall record of
7-2, dropping their only two contests to top-ranked teams,
including current No. 1 and two-time defending national champion
Adelphi University. The Tars most recently defeated Erskine
College, making easy work of the Flying Fleet with a final score of
23-2. Sophomore Sarah Ann Showell netted five goals and tacked on
two assists as the Tars rolled past their opponent on March 22.
The Lady Eagles remain undefeated, having racked up an overall
mark of 8-0 after defeating teams such as Millersville,
Shippensburg, C.W. Post, and Bloomsburg. The second-ranked Lady
Eagles are most recently coming off of a 21-6 victory over Slippery
Rock. Allison Berger led the attack with five goals and four
assists as a total of nine different players put goals up on the
scoreboard for LHU.
This marks the first time the two teams have matched up on the
field, but the two teams have both defeated common opponent,
Pfeiffer University. The Tars took down the Falcons by a score of
16-11, while Lock Haven defeated PU by a final score of 18-6.
After today's contest, the Tars prepare to take on Edinboro on
Sunday, April 3, on the campus of Lock Haven University. The
LHU-Edinboro matchups are part of a weekend of awareness, as all
three teams will take part in a walk for LAX-4-LIFE
on Saturday. LAX-4-LIFE Inc. is a national lacrosse campaign to
provide and support programs geared toward adolescent and young
adult suicide prevention awareness.
