WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 1, 2011) - The ninth-ranked Rollins women's lacrosse team squares off against No. 2 Lock Haven University this afternoon at 3 p.m. Coverage of today's top-ten showdown will be available through LIVE STATS on the Tars Sports Network, as well as FREE LIVE VIDEO provided by HAVENc@st, Lock Haven's source for live webcasts online.

The Tars enter into today's matchup with an overall record of 7-2, dropping their only two contests to top-ranked teams, including current No. 1 and two-time defending national champion Adelphi University. The Tars most recently defeated Erskine College, making easy work of the Flying Fleet with a final score of 23-2. Sophomore Sarah Ann Showell netted five goals and tacked on two assists as the Tars rolled past their opponent on March 22.

The Lady Eagles remain undefeated, having racked up an overall mark of 8-0 after defeating teams such as Millersville, Shippensburg, C.W. Post, and Bloomsburg. The second-ranked Lady Eagles are most recently coming off of a 21-6 victory over Slippery Rock. Allison Berger led the attack with five goals and four assists as a total of nine different players put goals up on the scoreboard for LHU.

This marks the first time the two teams have matched up on the field, but the two teams have both defeated common opponent, Pfeiffer University. The Tars took down the Falcons by a score of 16-11, while Lock Haven defeated PU by a final score of 18-6.

After today's contest, the Tars prepare to take on Edinboro on Sunday, April 3, on the campus of Lock Haven University. The LHU-Edinboro matchups are part of a weekend of awareness, as all three teams will take part in a walk for LAX-4-LIFE on Saturday. LAX-4-LIFE Inc. is a national lacrosse campaign to provide and support programs geared toward adolescent and young adult suicide prevention awareness.
