WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 8, 2011) - The Rollins
Tars pulled through to take an 8-4 victory over the Penn Quakers
Tuesday night at Alfond Stadium.
Freshman Adam Ogburn earned his first collegiate start as the
right-handed hurler tossed five innings and fanned a career-high
five Penn batters to earn his first win of the season. Ogburn
improves his ERA to 1.29 on the season in three appearances.
Posting a four-run sixth to lead 6-1, Rollins gave up three runs
in the bottom of the sixth to put the Quakers within two of the
Tars, 6-4.
Both teams remained scoreless through the following two frames,
but the Tars secured a pair of runs in the top of the ninth to give
Rollins the 8-4 lead and the win.
Rollins made use of its bullpen using four arms as the quartet
gave up three runs and four hits keeping the Quakers scoreless in
the final three innings.
Max Pavy, Kevin Mager, John Avanzino, and Sean Reilly each
notched two hits against the Quakers. Mager recorded his fourth
triple of the year as he drove in the Tars' first run of the night
scoring Max Pavy. Avanzino recorded his ninth double of the season
to lead the team in doubles.
Rollins will take to the field tomorrow afternoon as the Tars
host the Georgetown Hoyas. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. For
