MISENHEIMER, N.C. (March 4, 2011) -

Rollins was down late, but scored the final six goals of the game to tally a big 16-11 win over Pfeiffer on Friday afternoon.

The Tars improve to 4-1 on the season while the Falcons drop to 3-2.

Marissa Giannerini scored four goals, including a pair during crunch time, to lead Rollins. Cat Kelly added three scores while Erica Pagliarulo notched two goals and assisted on another.

Elyse De Lisle picked up the win in the cage, stopping seven shots.

Kelly broke a 2-2 tie with an unassisted score five minutes into the game and was quickly followed by a Pagliarulo goal to give Rollins a 4-2 lead.

The Tars advantage would grow to 6-3 at the 8:53 mark on a Sophie Townsend goal, before both team's scoring went stagnant for the next seven minutes. Pfieffer added a score in the waning minutes of the half as Rollins went into intermission with a 6-4 advantage.

The Falcons scored 29 ticks into the second half, but Rollins answered as Tori Snow and Pagliarulo each found the back of the net to again extend the lead to three, 8-5, with 27:50 to play.

Pfeiffer scored the next five goals and put Rollins down 10-8 with 16 minutes left in the game.

Sarah Ann Showell assisted on a Kelly Thayer score, and then notched a goal of her own to tie the game at 10 with under 10 minutes to play. The Falcons scored the next goal to regain the lead, but from then on it was all Rollins as the Tars outscored their hosts 6-0 down the stretch to secure the win. Giannerini and Kelly each scored a pair during the span while Katy Tyszko and Sophie Townsend each recorded a goal.

Rollins will be back in action on Sunday, March 6 at Queens University of Charlotte. Game time is slated for Noon. Fans can follow live stats at RollinsSports.com.
