WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 18, 2011) - After two ties and two lead changes, Rollins used a four-run sixth to lift the Tars past the UMass.-Lowell Riverhawks, 8-6, Friday night at Alfond Stadium.

Kevin Mager led Rollins offensively finishing a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with an RBI, run scored, and a pair of stolen bases. Nick Adams added a 2-for-4 performance with two runs, two doubles, and a stolen bag. Freshman Zach Persky also got two hits, to go along with a pair of runs scored.

In his fifth start of the year, senior Will Krasne (3-1) got the winning nod in seven complete innings of work. Krasne struck out five Riverhawks batters and walked one on the night, while giving up three earned runs. Alex Venegas received the no decision with two innings on the hill.

UMass.-Lowell took the early lead, 3-0, before Rollins took back all three runs to tie the score in bottom of third. Greg Smith scored on a Leathersich wild pitch, while Nick Adams scored on a Max Pavy groundout to short. Zach Persky scored the final run of the inning on a Mager RBI single.

Zach Persky put Rollins up 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth scoring on a Sean Reilly sacrifice.

The score evened once again in the top of the sixth as the Riverhawks scored on a Matt Jacobs sacrifice plating Mark Sanborn from third.

Rollins took back the lead in the bottom half of the inning with the Tars going up 8-4. Rollins started off with a Nick Adams double down the leftfield line, followed by a Pavy walk. The two scored on a two-out, bases clearing double by Tony Brunetti. Kevin Mager put runners on the corners on single through the left side and stole second to put runners in scoring position. Mager and Brunetti then scored on two-run single by John Avanzino to cap the night for Rollins.

UMass.-Lowell's Rob Sanborn, Dylan Flynn, and Mark Sanborn each got two hits off the Tars, while southpaw Jack Leathersich (2-1) picked up the loss in 5 2/3 innings of work and fanned eight Tars batters.

Rollins will be back in action on Saturday, March 19 as the Tars near the end of their non-conference slate. The Tars will host the UMass.-Lowell Riverhawks with first pitch slated for 7 p.m. For live action of the Tars, check out the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
