WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 25, 2011)- The Rollins softball team collected another series sweep with a pair of victories against Albany St., Friday evening, 8-0 and 11-0. Head coach Michelle Frew adds to her impressive career now with a total of 502 victories at the helm of the Tars.

Game one saw the Tars jump on the scoreboard in the first inning, tallying two runs to gain the early lead. Rollins would be silenced by Mindy Mager until the Tars broke open the game with four runs in the fourth, which included a Nikki Gouldthread homerun. Mager kept the Tars scoreless in the fifth, but Rollins capped the scoring off in the sixth with another two runs, ending the game in the sixth.

Offensively Amber Pederson and Gouldthread tallied two RBIs apiece along with Christine Roser and Hiliary Brown, each collecting one RBI apiece.

Roser collected her first win of the season, striking out six and only allowed one hit to the Rams offense.

Game two saw the hot hitting continue for the Tars, with Rollins ending the game in five innings, 11-0.

Five Tars collected RBIs with Roser tallying four courtesy of a second inning grand slam. Monica Meadows and Jessica Moreland also tallied homeruns for the Tars to collect their RBIs. Brittney Pumpelly and Hope Bitzer also knocked in one RBI apiece to round out the scoring.

Amye McIntyre pitched a strong game against the Rams, only allowing one hit, one walk and collected six strikeouts in four and two thirds innings of work.

With the pairs of victories Rollins improves to 9-1 on the season with their only loss coming to the defending national champion, Hawaii Pacific on their home field.
