WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 12, 2011) - Chris Malcolm set a new school record with nine blocks and Matt Robertson netted a career high 27 points as 23rd-ranked Rollins defeated Saint Leo, 86-49 on Saturday.

The win set a new team record for most consecutive Sunshine State Conference victories at 11 and extends the Tars longest winning streak since recording 14 straight in the 2002-03 season.

Rollins (20-4, 12-1 SSC) also maintains its two-game lead in the SSC standings with three games to play in the conference season.

Robertson went 9-of-12 from the field (5-of-8 from 3-pointer) and added 10 rebounds to his 27 points. His previous career best was 24, set in the season opener against Delta State.

Malcolm scored 11 points and pulled down eight rebounds while setting a new school record with nine blocks in a game. Frode Loftesnes held the previous mark of eight, set against Saint Leo in 1995.

Nick Wolf added 16 points and nine rebounds to extend his double-digit scoring streak to 88 games. He now has 1,837 career points and needs just 15 more to pass his uncle Jeff Wolf for third on the Tars all-time scoring list, while also sitting just 29 boards away from the 1,000 rebound plateau (971).

Rollins shot 55 percent (30-55) from the field and missed just two free throws (14-16). Saint Leo (10-13, 1-12 SSC) struggled the entire night, shooting 30 percent (18-60) from the floor and 6-of-20 from 3-point range. The Tars also won on the glass, outrebounding the Lions 36-31.

Saint Leo led 8-2 after the first four minutes until a Robertson triple sparked a 20-1 run over the next six minutes to put Rollins up 22-9. The Lions closed the gap to 26-16 with five minutes left in the period, but the Tars ended the first half on a 14-0 run to lead 40-16 at intermission.

The Lions would get no closer than 21 the rest of the way and Rollins led by as much as 40 late, taking an 81-40 lead with under five minutes to play.

Rollins will step out of conference action for its next contest and look to avenge an early season loss, hosting Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. They will then travel to Florida Southern on Saturday, Feb. 19 looking to clinch at least a share of the conference title with a win over the second place Mocs.

Fans can catch all the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com and locally on 91.5 FM, WPRK.
