WINTER PARK, Fla. (September 30, 2011) - The Rollins Tars volleyball team swept the Nova Southeastern Sharks in three (25-20, 25-19, 25-21) on Friday evening at Warden Arena.

Rollins improves to 10-7 on the season and 3-2 in the SSC, while Nova Southeastern falls to 3-11 overall and 1-4 in conference play.

The Tars were led by three in double-figures with Collyn Welsch tallying a match-high 11 kills, while Camille Indest and Megan Hodges each added 10 apiece. Kiana Parks assisted in 38 of the 44 total kills, while Hodges led the team in defensively with 10 digs.

Rollins scored five straight points in game one to take a 6-1 lead over the Sharks, but five straight points by NSU knotted up the score at 6-all. The Tars were then able to utilize a kill by Welsch that built some momentum to grab a strong lead over Nova. The Sharks were able to come within four of Rollins at the 23-19 mark, but a kill by Hodges sealed the game one win.

After taking an easy game one win, Rollins was able to make quick work of their opponent in the final two sets as they won by scores of 25-19 and 25-21. The Tars hit .229 on the game while NSU hit a .165, while leading in all but one statistical category (blocks).

Nova Southeastern was led by Molly Sigerich with seven kills and two blocks, while Danielle Graham added five kills and six digs.

The Tars will return to Warden Arena Saturday, Oct. 1 for a match-up against the Florida Tech Panthers. First serve is set for 4 p.m. Fans can catch all the live action on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
