Saint Leo, Fla. (September 24, 2010) -
Returning to Sunshine State Conference play, the Tars were defeated
in three straight sets (25-18, 25-18, 25-15) this Friday afternoon
by the Saint Leo Lions at The Bowman Center.
The Rollins Tars now fall to 8-4 overall and 1-2 in conference
play, while the Saint Leo Lions improve to 7-5 for the season and
3-1 in conference play.
For the first time this season, the Tars were held below a .100
hitting percentage as Rollins posted a .093 in three sets. Errors

the evening. Sarah
Mendoza led the Tars with 12 kills, while Kiana
Parks and Jenny
Sherwood led the team with a .333 hitting percentage.
Dropping the first set 25-18, the Tars saw a change at the
libero position in the start of the second game as Christina
Carracino was named libero. Carracino finished the match with
a season-high 16 digs.
The Tars led only on two occasions, but were unable to continue
the momentum after tying the score at 17-all on a Sarah
Mendoza kill and taking the lead on a Camille
Indest kill.
After a two-game road stint, the Tars return to Warden Arena
tomorrow afternoon as they host the Tampa Spartans at 4 p.m. Live
