WINTER PARK, Fla. (April 6, 2010) -
Eighth-ranked Rollins scored its second straight shutout and
closed both conference and home schedules with a bang, blanking
Saint Leo 9-0 on Senior Day, Tuesday.
Prior to the match, head coach Ron Bohrnstedt recognized
lone Tars senior Pablo Seijo for his
dedication to the program.
Rollins (14-8, 3-3 Sunshine State Conference) cruised past Saint
Leo (3-17, 0-5 SSC) in doubles and surrendered just four combined
games in singles.
In the No. 1 doubles match, eighth-ranked Jeff Morris and Neil
Clausen made easy work of Jose Morales and Yves Jacobs 8-2
while 23rd-ranked Seijo and Nick Rowlands teamed to down
Pablo Chavez and Richard Maclachlan 8-1 in the No. 2 match. Girts
Dzelde and Constantin
Sturdza took the No. 3 match for the Tars, defeating Michael
Calloway and Jeffrey Hanrahan 8-2.
In singles, eighth-ranked Morris took Chavez 6-0, 6-1 in the top
flight match with 34th-ranked Clausen downing Morales by the same
score at No. 2. Arturo
Baravalle over Calloway at No. 3, Chris
Herbert over Julian Jean-Pierre at No. 5 and Rowlands over
Hanrahan at No. 6 were all Tars shutouts, 6-0, 6-0. Dzelde
completed the Tars sweep with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Maclachlan in the
No. 4 match.
Rollins will conclude its 2010 regular season on the road, against
Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday, Apr. 10 at 1 p.m.
