WINTER PARK, Fla. -

The Rollins baseball team scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to squeeze out a 4-3 victory over the visiting Lynn Fighting Knights, Thursday evening at Alfond Stadium in Sunshine State Conference action.

The Tars (21-13, 5-5 SSC) scored a pair of runs in the first and in the final inning to secure their one-run victory, snapping a five-game conference losing streak. In the eighth and tied a three, Rollins' Scott Chase hit an infield fly, which was lost in the lights to the Knights' (10-23-1, 1-6) second baseman, Jazz Machin.

Rollins began the scoring in the first when Tony Brunetti ripped one of his three doubles in the game down the right field line with two outs. Mager followed with an RBI-single to right to continue the rally. A throwing error by the Knights allowed for Mager to score the give the Tars a two-run advantage.

The lead was short lived as Lynn answered with a run in the second on an RBI-groundout. The Knights tacked on two more runs in the following frame as Chris Chavez hit his conference leading 13th home run of the season, a two-run shot in the third.

The teams were silenced for the next four innings, before Rollins regained the lead in the eighth.

Starting pitcher Brad Renner started the game for the Tars and pitched 3.2 innings and allowed six hits with three runs, two earned in the no decision. Stanford transfer William Krasne (1-0) delivered his best effort of the season after shutting the Knights out in the remaining 5.1 innings.
