ORLANDO, Fla. -
Senior center fielder Taylor Ferguson was named
the Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week after leading the
Tars' to a 5-0 mark during the past week, the conference office
announced Monday.
Ferguson notched multiple hits in all five games to finish with a
.500 batting average. The Charlton, Mass., native also scored and
drove in at least one run in all five, driving in multiple runs in
four outings. Recording a 1.000 slugging percentage, he belted five
doubles, a triple, and one home run. For the week, Ferguson chalked
a .615 OBP and was perfect in the field. He was 1-for-1 in stolen
base attempts.
On the season, Ferguson is batting a team-best .424 with three home
runs and 22 RBIs, second on the team. He leads the team in
multiple-hit games with 13 and is currently riding an eight-game
hitting streak.
Ferguson and the Tars will gear up for their first game of the 62nd
Annual Baseball Week against Georgetown, March 8, at 7 p.m.
