ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (March 20, 2010) -
Rollins evened its conference record and earned its fourth
shutout of the season as the 10th-ranked Tars blanked Eckerd 9-0 on
Saturday.
Rollins (10-6, 2-2 Sunshine State Conference) easily swept the
doubles competition to start the match. Jeff Morris and Neil
Clausen downed Ben Maxwell and Adam Hopkins 8-3 in the No. 1
match while Pablo Seijo and Nick
Rowlands took Hisa Sato and Erick Thunberg by the same score in
the No. 2 match. Arturo
Baravalle and Girts
Dzelde completed the sweep with an 8-1 victory over JP Walker
and Aaron Kleefield in the No. 3 match.
In singles play, Morris was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Maxwell in the
No. 1 flight with 14th-ranked Clausen taking Sato 6-4, 6-1 at No.
2. Baravalle defeated Hopkins 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 3 match and
Dzelde picked up a 6-2, 6-0 win over Thunberg at No. 4. Herbert won
6-1, 6-2 over Jon Bonner and Constantin
Sturdza blanked Alex McDonald 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 6 match.
Rollins will be back in action on Tuesday, March 23rd at home
against Ouachita Baptist.
