WINTER PARK, Fla. -

Junior designated hitter Max Pavy collect a career-high three RBIs with a pair of base hits to guide the Rollins Tars to a 13-2 victory over visiting Florida Tech, Friday evening at Alfond Stadium in Sunshine State Conference action.

Pavy, a native of Ft. Myers, Fla., finished the game 2-for-5 with a run scored, a double and knocked in the eventual game-winning run in the fourth.

With the win, Rollins remains unbeaten in conference play with a record of 4-0 and improves to 19-8 on the season. The Panthers drop to 20-6 and are 5-5 in the SSC.

The Tars finished with six batters recording multi-base hits as first baseman Kevin Mager led the way with four. Mager finished with a double and scored four times for Rollins.

Right fielder Joey Manning tied Pavy for RBIs in the contest with three as he roped a bases loaded clearing double down the left field line in the sixth.

Senior center fielder Taylor Ferguson continued his impressive season with his 14th two-hit game. Ferguson was 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Ferguson is currently hitting .403, which leads the team and has a conference leading 48 hits.

Left fielder Tony Brunetti and second baseman Josh Band tallied a double each, while Brunetti recorded his 36th RBI in the contest, a team-best.

On the hill for Rollins, Stephen Hiscock (4-1) pitched another gem shutting down Florida Tech. Hiscock hurled eight innings and limited the Panthers to just six hits and two runs. Both of Florida Tech's runs came in the first inning as Hiscock honed in the remaining seven innings and silenced the Panthers' bats. He ended the game with nine strike outs and lowered his ERA to 3.15.

Reliever Robbie Pagano closed out the ninth for the Tars with ease as he struck out one and did not surrender a hit in the appearance.

Jonathan Cornelius (4-2) was chased away after completing five innings and allowed nine hits and seven runs. Josh Ziemba pitched the next inning, but gave up five runs and five hits before Ronnie Oelerich, making his 2010 debut, tossed the final two innings and allowed one run.

Rollins trailed in the game early after falling behind 2-0 in the first. The Tars scored 13 answered runs with a run in the second on a Pavy RBI single, before adding five more in the fourth. Rollins continued its offensive onslaught with a run in the fifth and five more in the sxith, before capping off the scoring with another in the seventh.
