MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (March 20, 2010) -
Rollins took one doubles match, but were swept in singles as the
10th-ranked Tars fell to fifth-ranked Barry 8-1 in Sunshine State
Conference action on Saturday.
Rollins (10-4, 3-2 SSC) picked up a point in the No. 3 doubles
match as Holly Fleming and Stefania
Tkach teamed to down Berit Peterson and Darya Yablonskaya 8-5.
Barry (11-2, 5-0 SSC) won the other two matches with Margaret
Junker and Kayli Ragsdale falling 8-6
to Barbi Pocza and Yulia Kashelkina at No. 1 and Roshini Luthra and
Lisa
Loft dropping a close, 9-7 decision to Angie Werschel and Mia
Fiocca in the No. 2 match.
The Bucs took each of the six singles matches in straight sets.
Fleming had a battle with 10th-ranked Werschel in the No. 2 match
with Werschel prevailing 7-6(5), 6-2.
Rollins will look to rebound with a non-conference match at St.
Thomas on Sunday, Mar. 21 with competition slated for 10 a.m.
