WINTER PARK, Fla. (December 4, 2010) - Opening up Sunshine State Conference play behind a career day from Jasmine Bradley, the Rollins women's basketball team picked up their first SSC victory of the season as they defeated Nova Southeastern University 87-61 on Saturday afternoon in Warden Arena.

Bradley tallied a career best 23 points, five assists, and four steals on the way to the Tars picking up their eight-consecutive victory of the season. Rollins advances to a record of 8-0, 1-0 in SSC play, while the Sharks drop to 6-2, 0-1 in conference action.

Bradley was 8-11 from the field, including 4-of-5 from long range and 3-for-4 from the stripe as she headed-up four Tars in double-digit scoring. Sarah Blackburn, Amber Heistan, and Kristina Mingos tacked up 14, 13, and 11, respectively. Blackburn notched her third double-double of her young career with 12 boards on the day, and was a perfect 4-for-4 from the line.

The Tars dished out assists left and right, with Tera McDaniel tallying a game high six, while Bradley and Paris Moore assisted on five each.

The Sharks saw a team-best 20 points from Stephanie Sarosi, who added seven rebounds to her total to match teammate Jada Buckner.

Rollins got off on the right foot, jumping out to a quick lead in the first two minutes thanks to 10-straight points from Bradley, including two shots from long range, to put the Tars in a five point lead with 16:30 on the clock.

The Tars extended their advantage to as much as 19 points in the first half with 6:07 before the break, but the Sharks whittled away at the deficit in the final stretch, and trailed the Tars by one with 21 seconds on the clock. A quick foul called on NSU's Lauren Marshall put Blackburn at the charity stripe to close out the first period with two good free throws to put Rollins ahead 40-37.

Rollins stepped into the second half and quickly pulled back into a sizeable advantage thanks to a Bradley trey, Brooke Burgess jumper, and a successful fast break lay-in by Bradley in the first 45 seconds. The Sharks fought back and pulled to within six with 17:28 on the clock, but weren't able to hold on to the momentum as Rollins continued to pour the points in to conclude the game with a substantial 26 point advantage.

The Tars return to action on Saturday, December 11, when they take on Warner University at 2 p.m. in Warden Arena. Fans who cannot make it to the game can catch all of the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
