LAS VEGAS, Nev. (December 16, 2010) - Nick Wolf poured in 30 points and the Rollins men's basketball team made a big statement with an 85-75 win over previously unbeaten and fifth-ranked Central Washington, Thursday.

The game opened up the men's division at the Western Washington hosted Great Western Shootout in Las Vegas' South Point Arena.

Rollins' Princeton-style offense had the Wildcats (8-1) befuddled all night as Wolf was 10-of-14 from the field and 10-of-12 from the charity stripe, while also snagging eight rebounds. Myk Brown hit three, 3-pointers and continued his hot streak with 23 points while Matt Robertson netted 16.

The Tars (7-2) made their living at the free throw line, shooting 34-of-45 from the stripe while CWU made good on 13-of-17 trips to the line.

Humberto Perez put up 19 points to lead Central Washington while Chris Sprinker added 12 and Drew Harris 12.

The Tars jumped out to a 10-point lead over the first five minutes, using their back-door offense to go up 13-3. A Jody Johnson 3-pointer at the 9:12 mark cut the Tars advantage to single digits before an 11-0 run ballooned the lead to 20, 36-16.

In the second half, the Wildcats chipped away and made it a one-possession game five-times, but Rollins connected from the stripe down the stretch to hold on for the win.

Wolf's big night vaults him into 12th place on the Tars' all-time scoring list with 1,534 points, just 15 being his uncle Dan Wolf. The Cincinnati native also passed Tim Shea for third place on the Tars' all-time rebounds list with 810 for his career.

Rollins will finish its trip to the desert on Friday, Dec. 17 against the Great Western Shootout host Western Washington at 8 p.m. (ET). Fans can catch all the action live on the Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com.
