Winter Park, Fla. (October 10, 2010) -
The Rollins Tars volleyball program (12-6, 4-4) returned to
Warden Arena for non-conference action against Merrimack College
and defeated the Warriors 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-19) this Sunday
afternoon.
Rollins made quick work of their opponents in the first game
hitting .308 and holding back the Warriors (4-11) to a .088 hitting
percentage. The Tars led by as many as nine on a kill by Sarah
Mendoza at the 20-11 mark.

Hodges from Kelly
Merideth. Merideth made her debut after missing seven matches
due to an ankle injury. The right-side hitter finished the
afternoon with five assists and one ace.
With Rollins' 11-point lead over the Warriors, Merrimack made a
comeback and went on a 9-1 run to trail the Tars by three with
22-19 on the board. Rollins managed to continue the fight and
close out the second game with a 25-21 win.
Coming out of intermission, the Tars drew momentum from their
previous two games and took an early lead in game three. With a
seven point lead at the 21-14 mark, the Tars forced Merrimack to
call a timeout, but wouldn't break the Tars mental game as they
went on to win 25-19.

Indest finished with a team-high .318 hitting percentage with
nine kills, three digs, and three blocks. Sarah Hodges chipped in
with 11 kills. Kiana
Parks was accredited with 32 assists from the 43 total Tars
kills.
Rollins remains in non-conference action as they head to
Valdosta, Ga. for the Wingate by Wyndham Crossover Classic hosted
by Valdosta State beginning this Friday, Oct. 15. The Tars are set
