Back-to-back 3-pointers by Brown at the eight minute mark gave the Tars an 11 point lead, 28-17. Lynn closed the gap in the waning moments of the period with Rollins holding a 35-30 lead at intermission.

The teams traded baskets to begin the second half until a 6-0 run by the Kennedy's gave the Fighting Knights their first lead of the game, 42-40 with 15:14 to play. LU held a four point lead with 12 minutes to play, but Rollins countered with a 13-2 spurt over the next seven minutes and built a 59-52 advantage.
