WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 9, 2009)-

Rollins collected a pair of wins against Albany St. in doubleheader action as the Tars took 10-1 and 2-1, Monday morning. With the wins the Tars move to 19-2 on the season, while Albany St. falls to 7-12.

Game one saw the Tars jump on the scoreboard quickly as they scored one run in the first and then countered with five runs in the second. Monica Meadows and Amber Pederson all picked up RBI's in the inning along with three RBI's from Missy Thogmartin. Pederson, Meadows and Thogmartin combined to go 4-for-6 in the game to help put the Tars up for the rest of the way.

In the third inning Christine Roser added to the lead, belting a three run homerun to left field to put Rollins up 9-1 in the bottom half of the third.
The Tars capped their scoring off when Amber Pederson drew a free pass to first base, as she was hit by the pitch from Melissa Hurst. Rachel Almengual also was hit by a pitch, which moved Pederson over to second. Vanessa Volkema pinch hit for Monica Meadows and doubled through the right side scoring Pederson to put Rollins up 10-1.

Game two of the doubleheader saw a closely contested game, which the Tars escaped with a 2-1 victory. Leading the way for the Tars was Jamie Rausch and
Amber Pederson as they both went 2-for-3, while Pederson scored the winning run for the Tars.

The offense for Rollins was stymied by Ashia Meredith as she held the Tars to two runs, their second lowest run total of the year.

Rollins struck first on the scoreboard first as Rachel Almengual came around on a Kristina Holland single through the right side. The Tars did not score again until the bottom of the sixth inning.

The fourth inning saw Albany St. tie the game up as Kandis Tate swung on the first pitch from Foster, which Tate took to left field.
