No. 14 Tars Score Bounce Back Win over St. Thomas

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (March 30, 2009) – Rollins quickly got back on the winning track Sunday as the 14th ranked Tars downed No. 20 (NAIA) St. Thomas 8-0.

The win pushes the Tars to 10-6 on the year while the Bobcats drop to 6-6.

The top flight doubles match was taken by Adrian Tan and Jeff Morris 8-2 over Adrian Escarate and Andrew Rifkin with Bill Rockwood and Jonathan Emmet defeating Federico Acevedo and Ricardo Marquez 8-4 at No. 3. Neil Clausen and Gustavo Carvalho were in a tough battled in the No. 2 slot, eventually downing Jeremy Bache and William Fountain 9-8(4).

Tan defeated Escarte 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 1 singles position with Clausen downing Bache 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2. Morris was a 7-5, 5-5, def. winner over Fountain at No. 3, Carvalho won 6-4, 6-0 over Rifkin at No. 4 and Andrew Johnson posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Marquez at No. 6.

Rollins will be back in action on Wednesday, April 1 at home against Florida Southern.
