Tars Shut out Adelphi for Season's 10th Win

WINTER PARK, Fla. (March 19, 2009) – Rollins had just one match go beyond two sets at the 14th ranked Tars scored a 9-0 shutout over Adelphi Thursday afternoon.

Adrian Tan and Jeff Morris teamed to win the top flighted doubles match over Tomasz Walczak and Alex Molotsky 8-5 while Neil Clausen and Gustavo Carvalho took Sebastian Nieves and Anton Voynov 8-2. Bill Rockwood and Nick Rowlands completed the Tars doubles sweep with an 8-3 win over Joseph Carbone and Bandar Kayali at No. 3.

Tan won the No. 1 singles match over Walczak 6-1, 6-1 while 27th ranked Clausen downed Nieves 4-6, 6-0, 10-2 and 35th ranked Morris won 6-0, 6-1 over Molotsky at No. 3.

Carvalho won the No. 4 match over Voynov 6-0, 6-0; Rockwood was victorious over Kayali 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5 and Rowlands shutout Bruno 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6.

Rollins will get back into Sunshine State Conference play on Saturday, Mar. 21, traveling to Boca Raton to battle Lynn at 10 a.m.
