After trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the first, the Tars answered with a Bennett solo line drive home run to right center to cut the deficit in half.

In the second, Rollins evened the game at two on More's RBI single, scoring first baseman Stephen Hiscock. The teams exchanged runs in the third before Rollins took a 4-3 lead in the fourth.

The Quakers put up four more runs in the top of the fifth capitalizing on a Tar error. In the bottom of the fifth, Bennett led off the frame with another solo shot, this time a blast to left field. After a Luker single up the middle, he advanced to second on a Eugene Martinez ground out. Luker scored on the next play, a Hiscock single to center field.
