WINTER PARK, Fla. – Senior outfielder Jesse More scored the game-winning run on a passed ball to culminate the Tars' 4-3 come-from-behind victory over the Maine Black Bears, Tuesday evening at Alfond Stadium during 2009 Baseball Week action.

Tied 3-3 in the ninth, More led off the frame when he was hit by a pitch. On a failed hit and run attempt, More stole second before the throw down from Maine's catcher, Myckie Lugbauer.

Designated hitter Eugene Martinez hit a blooper to left to advance More to third, but after being held up at third, More couldn't score despite an error by the left fielder, which allowed Martinez to reach second.

First baseman Stephen Hiscock was intentionally walked to load the bases during the next at bat. Pinch hitter Scott Chase stepped in, but wouldn't get an opportunity to drive in the run, as reliever AJ Bazdanes' (0-2) pitch got underneath Lugbauer and rolled to the back stop allowing for More to secure the Tars' fifth-straight victory.

Second baseman Ryan Luker led the Tars with a 2-for-3 performance and a game-best two RBIs to lead the Tars' offense. Centerfielder Taylor Ferguson and Hiscock both added a pair of base hits.

Junior starter Marc Hewett earned the no decision going six innings allowing three runs off six hits. Senior Marty Cornish pitched 2.2 innings and gave up three hits and struck out three during his effective appearance. Robbie Pagano (1-0) was credited the win after closing out the ninth.

For the Black Bears, AJ Bazdanes went eight innings and gave up three runs on seven hits, despite the no decision. Reliever Keith Bilodeau suffered the loss allowing the lone run in the ninth to score.

Maine jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second. With two outs, right fielder Kevin McAvoy drew a four pitch walk and advanced to third on the ensuing single by Jarett Lukas through the right side. Shortstop Tony Patane followed with an RBI-single. The Black Bears continued the two-out rally with a George Tager RBI, which preceded a Hewett wild pitch to cap the scoring.

Rollins answered in the bottom of the third when Hiscock started the frame with a single to center. Third baseman Michael Garczynski was hit-by-a-pitch to place runners on first and second with no outs. Shortstop Justin Yount advanced the runners on a sacrifice bunt, which allowed Taylor Ferguson to record the infield RBI single, scoring Hiscock. Luker reached base on a fielder's choice and Bryan Bennett flied out to end the scoring threat.

Trailing 3-1, the Tars relied on its defense to remain close, which included fielding two double plays.. In the eighth, the Tars evened the score on a Luker two-out two-run RBI single, scoring Ferguson, who reached on a double and Bennett, who was hit by a pitch.

The Black Bears led off the ninth with a Justin Leiseheimer single and he advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt, but after a pop up and line out, Maine couldn't get Leisenheimer to score.

The Rollins baseball team sported pink uniforms and hats in the contest in their support of the American Cancer Society-Search for a Cure for Breast Cancer. All proceeds from the game, including gate receipts, concession and apparel sales went to the cause.

Rollins, now 2-0 during Baseball Week, returns to the diamond against Penn, Wednesday at Noon.
