Winter Park, Fla. (February 11, 2009)- Senior
Nicole
Anderson pitched a perfect game as the Tars escaped with a 1-0
lead and then dusted off the Saints 6-0 in the nightcap.
The first game saw the Tars get a solo homerun from second basemen
Kristina
Holland as that was all the offense Anderson needed to capture
her fourth win of the season.
The nightcap saw the Tars' bats come alive as they scored six runs
on six hits. Rollins started out strong as they pushed across five
run in the first inning.
Christine
Roser continued her hot streak as she reached on a single
through the right side. Roser moved to second on a pass ball and
then brought home by a Missy
Thogmartin single. With two outs Jamie
Rausch belted a two-run homerun to left center field.
The next two batters Holland and Pederson, reached on a walk and
hit-by-pitch, respectively. Holland and Pederson would advance a
base on a pass ball. Morgan
Frost kept the inning alive as she reached on an error, scoring
Holland and Pederson.
Rachael
Foster notched her second win of the season with a three hit,
12 strikeout performance. With the win Foster, has lowered her ERA
to 1.05 on the season and is batting a stout .406 at the plate as
well. Flagler could only pick up two hits the rest of the game as
Foster blazed through the order.
In the third inning, Rausch singled up the middle to start the
inning. Pederson followed up with another single up the middle to
give the Tars runners on first and third. Pederson and Rausch
attempted a double steal and were successful as Rausch scored and
Pederson moved to second.
