THOMASVILLE, Ga. (September 14, 2008) – Five different Tars scored on the way to a 5-0 victory over the Lady Nighthawks of Thomas University on Sunday afternoon. The Rollins women's soccer team continues their season undefeated with an overall mark of 4-0-1, while Thomas drops to 1-5-0 on the season.

Rollins dominated throughout the whole match, exploding onto the pitch and playing hard for the full 90 minutes. The Tars kicked off the game with a goal in the 17th minute as Chelsea Brady dribbled in from the left side and shot from the corner of the box. It wasn't until the 30th minute that Rollins could score again, but with a goal from Charlotte Murrell off of a Georgia Libert assist, the Tars picked up momentum. Jessica Deese collected a pass from Meagan Thomas in the 39th minute to put Rollins in the lead 3-0 as they entered the half, walking away from the first period with plenty of confidence.

The Tars came out of the break with all pistons firing as senior Danielle Martin found the back of the net in the 53rd minute off of an assist from Julie Gatt. Freshman fireball Ashley Waplinger would round out the goal count for the afternoon just six minutes later as Charlotte Murrell found her with a chip shot, allowing Waplinger to squeak the ball by Thomas goalkeeper Heather Collins for the final tally of the afternoon.

Junior goalkeeper Stephanie Woelfel saw limited pressure as play mostly took place in the Tars' offensive end of the field. But when the ball came her way she performed perfectly, walking away with a 1.00 save percentage and recording the first shutout of the season for the Tars.

Rollins shut down the Nighthawks in shots, leading 17-2, as well as corner kicks as they silenced their opponent 8-0. Overall play was controlled by the Tars as they set the tone and speed of the game right from the opening kickoff.

The Rollins women's soccer team returns home to play their next game on Cahall-Sandspur Field at Barker Family Stadium this upcoming Wednesday evening when they take on the Flagler College Saints at 7:00 p.m. in their fourth home game of the season.
