Anderson turned in an eight strikeout performance en route to a 1-0
win over 20th-ranked University of Tampa. The Tars improve to 31-11
overall and 8-5 in the SSC, while the Spartans drop to 28-9 and
11-5 in conference play. Head Coach Michelle Frew is just seven
wins away (393) from her 400th Rollins victory.
Rollins tallied three hits on the evening as right fielder
Rachael Foster notched her second triple of the season to knock in
Starcher for the lone run of the game, 1-0. Starcher went 1-3 with
one run scored, while Meghan Shaw went 1-2 with a single up the
middle.
In the circle, Anderson (18-4) threw seven innings giving up
four hits and striking out eight. Heather VanLandingham (9-4)
picked up the loss for the Spartans pitching for seven innings and
giving up one run on three hits, two walks while striking out
five.
The Tars (31-11, 8-5) will be back in action tomorrow, April 19
when they take on the Tampa Spartans in a 1:00 p.m.
doubleheader.
