BOCA RATON, Fla. (April 12, 2008) ' The Rollins softball team ran a hit parade through Boca Raton on Saturday, defeating Lynn by scores of 3-1 and 15-1 in a Sunshine State Conference doubleheader. Rollins took the series three games to one and improved to 30-11 overall and 7-5 in conference play.

Senior Sherri Rabenold went 1-2 in game one before going off in game two, blasting two homeruns and batting 3-4 with six RBI and two run scored. Jamie Rausch also homered twice in the night cap to highlight a 2-5, five RBI day. Christine Roser hit 3-5 with three runs scored and an RBI on a homer in game two.

Rachael Foster scored the game one victory, allowing four hits and one run with three walks and seven strikeouts. Nicole Anderson was the game two winner, throwing all five innings and scattering three hits with one run, three walks and seven strikeouts.

Meghan Osborne hit 3-6 with a run scored to pace Lynn (17-31, 2-13 SSC). Amber Havnar was the game one loser in the circle and Cristie Kaufman suffered the game two loss.

Rabenold led off game one with a double, was sacrificed to second and scored on a Meadows groundout to make it 1-0 early. Lynn answered in the fourth, manufacturing a run after a Megan Osborne lead off single to make it 1-1. The Tars took control in the sixth, plating two and going up 3-1. Thogmartin drew a lead off walk and scored from first when Meadows sent a laser down the left field line that rolled to the wall. Roser gave the Tars their third run of the game later in the inning with a single that brought Meadows across the plate.

Rollins kept up the offensive onslaught to start game two, as Rabenold led off with a solo dinger to right and Roser blasted a solo shot to center, putting the Tars up 2-0. Lynn scored one in their half of the inning, but Rollins got it back in the top of the second as Ingrid Schumacher walked and was knocked in by Rabenold later in the stanza.

The Tars blew the contest open in the third, hanging 10 runs to take a commanding 13-1 lead. Roser led off with a double and, after a Lauren Starcher fly out, Rollins drew three straight walks to score the first run of the inning and chase off Kaufman. Kayla McCraney struck out in a pinch hit at bat before Rabenold cleared the bases with a blast to dead center, making the score 8-1. Rollins continued to roll as Thogmartin and Meadows singled and Roser walked to again load the bases. Starcher then lofted a ball to right that was misplayed by Lynn and allowed two more to score, making it 10-1. Rausch put an exclamation point on the big inning with a three run homer to center and put the score at 13-1.

Rausch gave the Tars two more in the top of the fifth, hitting a homerun to left with Starcher on base and sending the Tars back to Winter Park with a SSC series win.

Rollins will continue Sunshine State Conference action on Friday, April 18 when they will open up a three game set at Tampa. First pitch is slated for 7 p.m.
