SAINT LEO, Fla. (April 11, 2008) ' The Rollins
College men's lacrosse team brought their inaugural season to a
close on Friday as they traveled to Saint Leo in order to conclude
the April 1 contest that was postponed due to lightening. The Tars
were defeated by the Lions 13-2 and end their season with a final
record of 2-13, 0-4 in conference play. Saint Leo improves to 7-7,
1-3 in the conference and will advance to the Deep South Conference
Tournament.

silenced for the first three periods. Defensively, Charlie Shelly
collected four ground balls and was followed closely by Andrew
Cohen, Holt Mettam, and Matty Ryan with three apiece.
Freshman goalie Zach Cole collected 20 saves and grabbed four
ground balls for the Tars, playing almost every minute of the
contest. With this last game under his belt, Cole has tallied a
total of 240 saves this season, placing him in the top ten in NCAA
Division II Records for number of saves made in a single
season.

assist for the night. Benjamin Brigham added two goals and an
assist, while Nick Bova and Brian MacMahon each scored two goals

the contest that originally began on April 1. With 9:36 left on the
clock, the game was underway, and Rollins was unable to tally a
goal until the fourth quarter. Saint Leo was able to run a 12 goal
lead over the Tars until six minutes remaining in the game with an
Andy Katz goal from up top. Harvey's goal wouldn't come until just
45 seconds remained in the game.
The Tars end their inaugural season with two wins under their
belt. The Lions will now face either Catawba or Wingate in the Deep
South Conference Tournament Semifinals next Friday at Mars Hill
College. Wingate and Catawba will play each other on Saturday to
decide the regular season champion and the top seed in next week's
tournament.
