LAKELAND, Fla. (March 19, 2008) ' Nicole Anderson allowed just two hits and one run in a complete game effort, leading Rollins to a 4-1 Sunshine State Conference victory over Florida Southern Wednesday. The Tars improve to 16-9, 1-3 SSC while the Mocs fall to 20-4, 1-3.

Anderson struck out four and walked two while surrendering just the one run and pair of hits. The victory pushes her record to 9-3 on the season. Brittany Minton took the loss for the Mocs, allowing four runs, two earned, on four hits in seven innings of work.

Missy Thogmartin and Christine Roser both hit two-RBI singles in the game to lead the Tars offense. Lauren Starcher and Morgan Frost also tallied base knocks for Rollins.

Rollins went down 1-0 in the third as Dani Blake drew a walk and Michelle Tatlock brought her in with a triple. All the Tars runs came in a big fifth inning, sparked by a Starcher one out single. Rachael Foster sacrificed her to second and Morgan Frost bunted for a single to load up the bases. Thogmartin then ripped a double down the left field line to score Starcher and Frost, making the score 2-1 Tars. Monica Meadows reached on a Mocs error in the Tars next at bat, followed by a Roser single to left field that plated Thogmartin and Frost.

Anderson then took over and allowed just one more base runner the rest of the way to seal up the Tars win.

Rollins and Florida Southern will clash again on Thursday, March 20 in a Sunshine State Conference doubleheader in Lakeland. First pitch for game one is slated for 6 p.m.
