ORLANDO, Fla. (March 17, 2008) - Senior first
baseman Sherri Rabenold received her first Sunshine State
Conference player of the week award of the 2008 season.
Rabenold led the Tars to a 6-0 weekly mark, batting .667 with 17
runs, nine RBI, one double, one triple, and two home runs. She was
an impressive 11-for-11 on the basepaths, stealing multiple bases
on three occasions. Rabenold tallied multiple hits in five of six
contests and scored multiple runs in every game. Her most
impressive outing came in a 10-0 win against Bentley, as she went
4-for-4 at that plate, scored two runs, and was 3-for-3 in stolen
base attempts. Drawing three walks in a 9-5 win over American
International, she scored three runs and was successful in all four
of her steal attempts. Rabenold concluded the week with a 1.167
slugging percentage, .760 OBP, and 1.000 fielding percentage.
The 14-8 Tars will take on Carson Newman today, March 17 in a
5:00 p.m. doubleheader.
