ORLANDO, Fla. (March 17, 2008) - Rollins senior
Brian Compton notched his second SSC Male Player of the Week nod of
2008 for his impressive wins this past week.
Compton guided the No. 9 Tars to a 3-1 weekly performance,with
their lone loss coming at No. 6 UC San Deigo. In that match,
Compton, who is ranked 13th in DII in singles, upset sixth-ranked
Bijan Moallemi 2-6, 7-6, 10-8. Also ranked 13th nationally with
doubles partner Jonathan Gomez, the duo pulled off a huge 8-5 win
over UCSD's No.1 ranked tandem of Blake Meister and Eric Rubens.
Compton also registered a singles win over Miles Holman in the
Tars' 9-0 sweep against Bentley and teamed with Gomez for doubles
victories in Rollins' 7-2 win at Azusa Pacific and 8-1 victory at
Cal Poly Pomona.
The 8-3 Tars will take on Cornell University today, March 17 in at
2:30 p.m.
