WINTER PARK, Fla. (February 21, 2008) ' The
Rollins women's tennis team cruised against another conference foe
as they defeated the Florida Tech Panthers 5-0 on Thursday
afternoon at the Bert Martin Tennis Complex. The top four singles
matches were called due to rain.
In doubles action, the 14th-ranked duo of Marnie Mahler and
Roshni Luthra picked up their third consecutive win over Natalia
Ramos and Michaela Horvathova 8-3 in the No. 1. Margaret Junker and
Sonia Bernal remained undefeated on the season by defeating Andrea
Madrigal and Nicole David 8-3 in the second slot. In the third
seed, Silvia Frandji and Anastasiya Shevchenko stayed perfect as
they refused to drop a game against Sarah Collins and Jelani
Reynolds 8-0 in the No. 3.
Only two singles matches were able to be completed as No. 5
Junker rolled past Annie Brethour 6-0, 6-0, and Frandji routed Sara
DiNovi 6-0, 6-0 in the sixth seed.
The Tars (3-0) will be back in action on Saturday, February 23
when they travel to West Palm Beach to take on the Palm Beach
Atlantic Sailfish at noon.
