AT A GLANCE...
Fresh off its second regular-season win, the
Rollins College men's basketball team will head back into action
for a non-conference showdown against the University of
Wisconsin-Green Bay at the 2008 Glenn Wilkes Classic.
Friday's contest marks the first
meeting between the two schools. Green Bay, a Division I
affiliate, travels to Daytona, Fla., for its second game of the
season. The Phoenix dropped its opener against Utah, 79-60 at Salt
Lake City, Utah in the campus site portion of the classic.
Rollins is led by sophomore Jeremy
Sharpe who is averaging 22.5 points per game after dropping 26
points against the Puerto Rico-Cayey Bulls. Rollins has three
other players averaging double-digits in points with Nick Wolf
(12.5), Zach Pancratz (12.0) and Kevin Hogan (10.5).
In its first two games, Rollins has
received steady play from its bench as the reserves have out-scored
its opponents, 58-31.
The Phoenix counter with the 2007
Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year in senior forward Terry
Evans. The St. Louis, Mo., native, Evans, scored a team-high 15
points in the opener against the Utes. Junior college transfer
Chop Tang was the other Phoenix who netted double-digits with 12
points in the opener.
The Tars are 3-0 all-time against
current Horizon League members (Valparaiso 1-0, Wright State
2-0).
Head coach Tom Klusman, in his 29th
year at Rollins, owns a career record of 505-295.
