LAKELAND, Fla.
The Rollins volleyball team fell to 10thranked Florida
Southern, 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-19) Wednesday evening in Sunshine
State Conference action at Jenkins Field House.
Rollins (16-15, 2-9 SSC) was led by a trio of attackers, who
recorded six attacks apiece. Junior outside hitter Nikki
Hartman, right side hitter Caitlin
Vyborny and newly converted outside hitter Phoebe
Corder paced the Tars.
Defensively, Hartman tallied 10 digs, while Corder chipped in with
four. Corder now has 583 digs, which places her second on the
Tars' single-season list. The Buda, Texas native, Corder, is 20
digs from eclipsing Kim Cline's mark of 602 set in 2005.
For the Mocs (22-6, 9-2), Danielle Higgnbotham recorded the
match-high 15 kills, which preceded Julia Boreka's 10. As a team,
Florida Southern hit .367 with Higgnhotham notching the team-best
.487.
The Tars and Mocs met previously with Florida Southern earning a
3-1 victory at Warden Arena.
Rollins returns to the court for a non-conference match against
Palm Beach Atlantic, Saturday, Nov. 1 at 4 p.m.
