In their last game against SSC opponent Saint Leo, Jennifer
Musgrove shot 12-14 from the free throw line and posted a
double-double to lead the Rollins women's basketball team in a
69-64 overtime victory at Saint Leo on Saturday. The Tars (8-2, 1-1
SSC) outscored the Lions (7-5, 0-1 SSC) 9-4 in the extra period
with Rollins going 7-8 from the charity stripe in the frame.
SSC STANDINGS
Two teams remain tied in both SSC and overall rankings.' Barry
University and Lynn University both have an 11-2 overall record,
and a perfect 2-0 record in the SSC.' Tampa holds a 2-0 SSC record
as well, but is only 9-2 on the season overall.' Rollins comes in
right behind Tampa in both the SSC and overall rankings.
SERIES VS. FLORIDA TECH
Rollins is ahead in the series against the Panthers
32-17.
SCOUTING THE TARS
Senior guard Jennifer Musgrove leads the Tars with 14.9
points per game, 8.1 rebounds per game, and 4.5 assists per game.'
Behind Musgrove, Jessica Pressley and Brittainy Daiger average 9.9
and 9.5 points per game, respectively.' Junior forward Ines Teuma
sits right on the heels of Musgrove with an average of 8.0 rebounds
per game.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
The Panthers are currently 0-1 in the SSC and 8-4
overall.' Senior Kristin Heminger leads the team in scoring with
15.1 points per game.' Freshman Lynisha Nelson follows closely with
an average of 12.9 points, and also leads the team with 5.0 assists
per game.' Senior Casselle Russell leads the pack with 5.2 rebounds
per game.
LOOKING AHEAD
After today's contest, the Tars will be on the road yet again and
will look to pull in a win over the Flagler College Saints.'
Rollins has won 22 out of 33 total games against the Saints.
LAST TIME OUT
In their last home regular season contest at Warden Arena
last season, Rollins defeated #17 Florida Tech 74-68 in overtime.'
The Tars improved to 21-5 overall and 12-3 in Sunshine State
Conference play, and the first place Panthers dropped to 21-5
overall and 13-3 in the SSC in their final conference game.
TARS TIDBITS
December 29ths game against Albany State was Jennifer
Musgrove's 100th start, and 100th consecutive game.' Musgrove has
