MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (September 29, 2007) ' The
Barry University Buccaneers volleyball team battled by the Rollins
College Tars 3-0 (34-32, 30-20, 35-33) on Saturday afternoon at the
Health and Sports Center.
Senior Christina Reinders led the charge for Rollins with 14
kills and eight digs, while Piper Young had 11 kills and seven
digs. Lacey Malarky tallied 32 assists and libero Kim Cline had 10
digs for the Tars defense.
Rollins kept in close in game one, but errors down the stretch
cost the Tars the game (34-32). It was all Barry in the second game
with the Rollins defense struggling during crucial points. In the
third and final game, the Tars dug deep, but the Bucs dug even
deeper to pull out the game three win, 35-33.
For the Bucs (8-10, 2-2), four players totaled kills in
double-digits with junior Camilla Pagnan having an impressive
afternoon with 25 kills and 10 digs. Stefanie Sveiven followed with
13, Caitlin Shawver with 11 and Meisje-Sable Burton with 10.
The Tars (11-8, 2-3) will be back in action when they travel to
Lynn University to take on the Fighting Knights (10-4, 2-2) on
